I Want to Thank You: How a Year of Gratitude Can Bring Joy and Meaning in a Disconnected World by Gina Hamadey (me!)

I mean it’s a shameless plug but truly, I Want to Thank You is such a lovely gift. You’ve seen the sweet illustrations, I hope? One of my old neighbors has been writing gratitude letters AS INSCRIPTIONS in the book. Genius, right? If you’d like a signed copy of the book, order it from my local bookstore Books Are Magic, and write in the “notes” section that you’d like a signed copy! A lot of people have told me that they are bundling up the book with a pack of beautiful cards or stationery. See some favorites below!

Ten Thank-You Letters by Daniel Kirk

This sweet picture book (ages 5-8) is about how good it feels to write gratitude letters, and how once you get started, you realize how many people there are to thank. It’s a great first step toward helping kids develop their own gratitude practice.

Isolation Journal by Suleika Jaouad

Suleika Jaouad, author of the incredible book Between Two Kingdoms, runs a writing community/newsletter called The Isolation Journals, and just put out a lovely journal with a beautiful introduction page. Excerpt: “The journal is tabula rasa and terra incognita. It is a mirror for the self—past, present and future—and a portal onto the not yet known. It is refuge: a hiding place, a finding place. Here I create myself. Here I write my way through.”

Customized Photo Book from Chatbooks

Print a book of vacation photos for family members; print random candids through the years for friends. I used Chatbooks to print and bind pictures of all 365 thank you notes I wrote in my Thank You Year. Paging through these books gives me the warm fuzzies every time. Discount code: GRATITUDE20 for 20% off your order

Pilot Precise v5 Pens
I have tried so many pens. So many. Muji, Poppin, etc etc. I read this 100 best pens article from Strategist and tried like 10 of those. But I remain 100% loyal to the Pilot Precise v5 pens I used when I was a magazine editor.

Dinner Party with The Culinistas

THANK YOU NOTE FOLDER!

Folio from Poketo

I love having my cards, stamps and pen in one place, along with a notebook where I can list potential note recipients. The one I have is similar to this. Poketo also has a great selection of stylish planners and journals.

BONUS!

Lotto Love charity scratchers

To turn a thank you note into a meatier gift, I like to add a little something: a pressed flower, a stylish temporary tattoo, a fortune fish, even vintage matches. But my absolute favorite are these scratchers that reveal the charity you’ve just donated to! What a terrific idea. Code: GRATITUDE for free first class shipping
