My Friend’s Best Wedding (Dutton, June 2027) follows a woman who realizes she’s in love with her childhood best friend just as she’s helping him to plan his last-minute wedding to her high school bully. As feelings emerge, a decision is made: She’s going to stop this wedding.

Gina Hamadey is a journalist and the author of I Want to Thank You (TarcherPerigee, 2021), in which she chronicled her year writing 365 thank you notes to friends, mentors, Brooklyn neighbors, and her husband and two sons (who appreciate a '90s romcom).

She is the former travel editor of Food & Wine and Rachael Ray Every Day, and she began her career at O, the Oprah Magazine and George. She has written for The New York Times, Real Simple, and Elle. This is her first novel.

  • "Absolutely delicious. What a gorgeous ode to one of my favorite 90s romcoms, My Best Friend’s Wedding. I've thought about alternative endings to the movie for years and Gina Hamadey delivers with both creativity and verve. Romantic, charming, laugh-out-loud funny. I inhaled it in one night and then passed it on to my own best friend."
